Summary

Detailed description of the results of an energy analysis made on the refrigeration equipment of cooperatives for white wine making, located in Southern France. This analysis uses an expert system (KBSWINery) and validates the model of the dynamic behaviour of energy and mass balances. The wine-making technologies used in these cellars, the refrigerating systems, and the methods for calculating and measuring refrigeration balances and energy consumption are described. Results are discussed. They show the difference between the output of the compressors and actual consumption. Improvements and energy savings are recommended. J.R.
