Energy efficiency of dimethylether (DME) refrigerators.

Summary
The authors' earlier research project in this field shows that energy efficiency of refrigerators filled with DME as a drop-in replacement for R12 is comparable. Additional research work on the domestic refrigerator was done. A refrigerator intended basically for isobutane without changes was tested and filled with DME. Tests were made corresponding to ISO 8187. Pull down and ON-OFF characteristics were measured. Important operating parameters and energy consumption for DME and isobutane were compared.
