Energy management in railway vehicles: analysis of energy consumption under testing conditions and evaluation of LCC and energy efficiency.

Summary
The energy consumption of the HVAC system in railway vehicles depends on permanently changing environmental conditions. This is why a standardized climatic test cycle is needed to compare the energy efficiency of different solutions or to be able to calculate energy consumption over a certain period. In the paper, the results of a research study on the development of such a climatic test cycle and the possibilities for using these results for calculation of energy consumption, LCC and energy efficiency are presented.
