ENERGY RECOVERY AT THE NEW PORK-MEAT FACTORY OF < ETABLISSEMENTS ECONOMIQUES DU CASINO >.

ECONOMIE D'ENERGIE A L'USINE DE CHARCUTERIE DES ETABLISSEMENTS ECONOMIQUES DU CASINO.

Author(s) : MALTERRE C.

Summary

THE STUDY DESCRIBES AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING HOT WATER IN A NEW PORK-MEAT FACTORY. THE DESIGN OF THIS INSTALLATION ALLOWS TO SUPPLY HALF OF HEAT REQUIREMENTS BY HOT WATER AT 338 K (65 DEG C) INSTEAD OF STEAM USUALLY. THE SYSTEM OF HOT WATER PRODUCTION IS BASED ON HEAT RECOVERY AT THE CONDENSERS OF REFRIGERATING UNITS BY A HEAT PUMP, SUPPLEMENTED BY HOT WATER STORAGE. THE HEAT PUMP USES R12, BETWEEN EVAPORATION AT 289 K (16 DEG C) AND CONDENSATION AT 343 K (70 DEG C). AN IMPORTANT SUBCOOLING OF CONDENSED R12 IMPROVES THE COP TO 4.20. COMPARED WITH A CLASSIC OIL BOILER,THE INVESTMENT PAYBACK PERIOD IS ABOUT 3.3 YEARS.
