Summary

THE AUTHORS INTRODUCE THE EFFECT OF EHD PHENOMENA ON THE ENHANCEMENT OF CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER. TWO FACTORS OF ENHANCEMENT WERE OBSERVED: THE REMOVING OF CONDENSATE FROM THE TUBE SURFACE, AND THE CONDENSATION IN THE FORM OF PSEUDO-DROP THEY ALSO INTRODUCE THE RESULTS OF AN ACTUAL TEST OF AN EHD CONDENSER FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMPS. THIS EHD ENHANCEMENT TECHNIQUE FOR CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER IS USEFUL FOR HIGH REYNOLDS NUMBERS AND ELECTRICAL POWER LOSSES ARE NEGLIGIBLE.
