Summary
The Revised Law Concerning the Rational Use of Energy was enforced in Japan, therefore it is necessary for convenience store (CVS) to reduce primary energy consumption. It is reported that CSV has increased to about 45,000 stores in the country, and the primary energy consumption per unit area of CVS is much higher than that of office or school. Incidentally, since the earthquake disaster and nuclear accident, smart meters, LED lighting and solar power generation have been especially introduced in new or existing stores. The aim of this study is to clarify the indoor thermal environment and electricity consumption characteristics of CVS built in 2000 and 2010 in snowy and cold regions. 1) The effects on temperature distribution by the differences in each temperature setting for merchandise management or air-conditioning system, etc. are analyzed. 2) The ratio of electricity consumption and annual energy consumption per unit area are shown, and the evaluation method of energy efficiency applicable to CVS is proposed.
