DENMARK HAS THE HIGHEST PER CAPITA CONSUMPTION PER ANNUM AT 28.8 KG FOLLOWED BY SWEDEN AT 25.4 KG. ITALY AND SPAIN WERE THELOWEST AT JUST OVER 4 KG. DETAILS ARE GIVEN FROM 11 EUROPEAN COUNTRIES AND SALES SUBSEQUENT TO 1985 ARE EXPECTED TO BE GREATER POSSIBLY DUE TO THE CHERNOBYL DISASTER, AND ALSO TO CHANGES IN THE TRADITIONAL CONTINENTAL LIFESTYLE.
