Summary

HFC-32, of which ozone depletion potential (ODP) is zero and global warming potential (GWP) is 675, could be an acceptable working fluid for heat pump to replace HFCs. In order to investigate the heating performance of quasi-two stage compression HFC-32 heat pump system (QTSC system), an experimental setup was established. The results showed that the discharge temperature of the QTSC system was 10-20 K lower than the single stage compression system (SING system), not exceeding the limit of 130°C, and the heat pump can steadily run for long time under condensing temperature of 40°C, evaporating temperature varying from -10 to -5°C. The heating capacity of the QTSC system with HFC-32 is 12% higher than SING system, and the heating COP depending on the intermediate vapour pressure is higher or lower than SING system.
