EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON CONDENSATION OF REFRIGERANT-OIL MIXTURES. 3. R12 AND R22 ON THE EXTERNAL SURFACE OF SINGLE AND MULTIPLE HORIZONTAL FINNED TUBES.

Author(s) : WANG J. C.Y.

Summary

PRESENTED ARE THE TEST RESULTS OF R12 AND R22 ON THE EXTERNAL SURFACE OF HORIZONTAL FINNED TUBES. THE OIL USED IS ALKYLBENZENE-BASED. BOTH PURE REFRIGERANT VAPOUR TESTS AND VAPOUR-OIL MIXTURE TESTS WERE CONDUCTED AT 305. 4 AND 313.7 K (32.2 AND 40.6 DEG C). IT WAS FOUND THAT THE PRESENCE OF OIL IN R12 AND R22 VAPOUR WITH ANY MASS RATIO LOWERS THE CONDENSING COEFFICIENT. THE REDUCTION OF THE CONDENSING COEFFICIENT IS NOT PROPORTIONAL TO THEPERCENT OF OIL FOR THE FINNED TUBES. AS FOR THE PRESSURE DROP ACROSS THE CONDENSER, THE EFFECT OF OIL IN THE REFRIGERANT VAPOURS IS NOT NOTICEABLE.
