Experimental study on heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of R22 for enhanced tubes.

Author(s) : ZHANG X., ZHOU L., SHIM M., et al.

Summary

Condensation and evaporation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics were studied for an enhanced tube adjusted for sea water. The refrigerant was R22, and the horizontal test section, 19 mm outside diameter (for condensation) and 16 mm outside diameter (for evaporation) with a length of 1100 mm enhanced tube used for heat exchanger with water were investigated. The performance characteristics of heat transfer are compared with data from the literature. The performance characteristics of anti-corrosion high efficiency heat exchanging copper alloy tube are about twice of those of common tubes (such as smooth tubes).
