Summary

Potassium sorbate (0.05%) treatment extended the shelf life of Bushibal and Lulu fruits, stored at 4 deg C, by 2-3 weeks compared with controls. Mould growth became visible after 2 months at -2 deg C. At -20 deg C, Bushibal fruits remained acceptable in terms of sensory scores for 2 months, whereas Lulu fruits remained acceptable for up to 8 months. The fruits of both cultivars matured from the khalal to rubab stage during the storage period.
