Summary

The French government has undertaken through the national waste prevention programme established by the public authorities to halve food waste by 2025. A panel of necessary measures, all gathered in a survey, to reduce and manage food waste, mainly in the distribution stage, was agreed upon. The conclusions of this survey are as follows: all stakeholders are committed and responsible for food losses and waste;the loss and waste reduction demands an overview from all stakeholders on all targeted actions for each stage of the process as well as new initiatives and management policies within these branches.
