Summary

THE FREEZING SUITABILITY OF 12 BULGARIAN STRAWBERRY VARIETIES WAS STUDIED. THE QUALITY OF FROZEN FRUIT WAS EVALUATED BY A TASTE PANEL, THE ASCORBIC ACID AND SOLUBLE DRY MATTER CONTENTS WERE DETERMINED. SOME ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS WERE CONSIDERED SUCH AS FERTILITY AND THE FRACTIONATION OF FRUIT. THE MOST SUITABLE VARIETIES ARE BELRUBI, CAMBRIDGE FAVORITE AND SEQUOIA. ROKSANA, REDGAUNTLET AND POCAHONTAS MAY BE CONSIDERED AS SUITABLE. SENGA GIGANA AND HUMI GRANDE ARE UNSUITABLE.
