Storage of strawberry under controlled atmosphere conditions.

Author(s) : ERIS A., TURK R., OZER M. H.

Summary

Strawberry (Tiago) was used as material in the study. The harvested strawberries were placed into plastic boxes and then precooled. Thereafter, the strawberries were put into independent cells, 120 liters volume each, with inner atmosphere combination controlled in the cold room (temperature of 0 deg C and relative humidity of 90-95%). The samples taken in first and second weeks of storage were kept at room conditions for 2 days with the aim of determining the shelf life of strawberry stored at the reported CO2-O2 combinations for 2 weeks. Physical, chemical and sensory changes were determined in the samples taken. Results are given.
