Summary
THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FORMATION, IN AN ELECTRIC FIELD, OF THREAD-LIKE FROST ON THE COMPONENTS OF THE COOLING UNIT AND THE CORONA ELECTRODE ARE SHOWN, THE GROWTH OF FROST BEING 4 TO 8 TIMES GREATER THAN WITHOUT ELECTRIC FIELD. DATA ARE GIVEN ON THE CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRIC POWER IN PRESENCE OF FROST FORMATION IN AN ELECTRIC FIELD. THE RESISTANCE OF THE FROST LINK WITH THE COMPONENTS OF THE REFRIGERATING UNIT AND THE CORONA ELECTRODE IS SHOWN TO BE INSIGNIFICANT. THE RESULTS CAN BE USED FOR THE PRACTICAL CONTROL OF FROST ON THE SURFACE OF COOLING UNITS.
