Summary

THIS STUDY WAS MADE ON TWO STRAINS AND IT IS INTENDED FOR PROCESSORS OF RESIDUAL WATER. THE TEST PROCEDURE IS DESCRIBED, WITH GLYCERINE AS THE CRYOPROTECTANT. FREEZING, WITHOUT PRECONCENTRATION, WAS DONE IN LIQUID NITROGEN OR IN A FREEZER CABINET AT 255 K (-18 DEG C) ; STORAGE LIFE AT 255 K IS VARIABLE. COMPARATIVE RESULTS ARE GIVEN. THE BIOMASS WAS CONCENTRATED BY FILTRATION OR CENTRIFUGATION, FROZEN AND STORED AT 255 K ; THE PROTOCOLS AND RESULTS ARE GIVEN. THE AUTHORS STATE THE PROTOCOL WHICH THEY PREFER. L.R.
