Summary

R404A has been identified as the best match to R22 in refrigeration applications such as supermarket cooling. R404A is also used by now in system fitted with low pressure liquid receiver in industrial refrigeration where R22 has been employed. The lower evaporation temperature limit is close to R404A bubble point at atmospheric pressure (-46.4 deg C) and the authors would like to highlight that there is no upper limit. R407C also allows an excellent match to R22 in its air conditioning or high evaporation temperature applications.
