Heat transfer and fluid flow of refrigerants in microchannels.

Problematiche di termoidraulica di fluidi refrigeranti in microcanali.

Author(s) : CELATA G. P., ZUMMO G.

Summary

The relatively few works available in the literature on microscale thermohydraulics reveal that there are still relevant disagreements among the results. In particular, most disagreements pertain to the transition laminar-to-turbulent flow. Heat transfer tests reveal that microchannels have a better performance than the conventional flow channels. The paper highlights the results of an experiment aiming to investigate the hydraulic characteristics and single-phase thermal behaviour of R114 as a test fluid inside a capillary tube with an internal diameter of 130 micrometres.
