Heat transfer coefficients in horizontal flow boiling of some pure refrigerants and their zeotropic mixtures: experimental and theoretical results.

Author(s) : ROHLIN P.

Summary

The work presents results from flow boiling tests with pure R22, R142b, R134a and R32 as well as several mixtures of R22-R142b and R32-R134a. The results cover average and local heat transfer coefficients for both the pure refrigerants and the mixtures. For the pure refrigerants the measured heat transfer coefficients are compared with the correlations of Pierre, Jung and Shah. The experiments are performed in a horizontal electrically heated tube. The working fluid is totally oil-free and is distributed by self-circulation. The fluid is slightly subcooled at the inlet of the evaporator and slightly superheated at the exit.
