Study of the condensation of a R23-R134a zeotropic mixture in a bundle of finned tubes.

Etude de la condensation d'un mélange zéotropique R23-R134a dans un faisceau de tubes à ailettes.

Summary

Refrigerants composed of zeotropic mixtures will be among the most common substitute fluids of the future. A study was done on the condensation of the zeotropic mixture R134a-R23 in a bundle of finned tubes. The measurements revealed a big difference in behaviour between mixtures and pure fluids. A large drop in the heat transfer coefficient was seen. The behaviour of the first row differs from that for pure fluids, and the flooding effect is lower. The concentration of the most volatile compound has a great influence on the thermal results.
