Heat transfer in condensation of refrigerant mixtures. Influence of thermophysical properties and interfacial effects.

Author(s) : STEPHAN K.

Summary

The paper discusses phenomena occurring during condensation of vapor mixtures, when the condensate consists of miscible liquids. Unfortunately, the thermophysical properties of refrigerant mixtures are not well explored, so that most of the evaluations had to be done with hydrocarbon mixtures. One can, however, expect the same phenomena for refrigerant mixtures, though quantitative predictions cannot be made at present. Three different phenomena are described: the film-wise condensation, other non-film-wise condensation forms and the fog formation in a condenser.
