HFC134a in farm vat dimple pads.

Summary

R12 and R134a, used in vat dimple pads, in farms in New Zealand, have been compared from a performance point of view. The floor of the vat is constructed from two sheets of stainless steel to form an evaporator. One of the sheets is pressed with identations. Both sheets are joined by spot welding and the gap between them forms two evaporation circuits. The first circuit is supplied with R12 and the second one with R134a. The aim of the operation is to appraise the R12 performance in comparison with R134a. The results of this comparison are given.
