Summary

TO PROVIDE OZONE-LAYER PROTECTION, IT ISNECESSARY TO CONSIDER THE USE OF NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES OF REFRIGERANTS LITTLE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON THE HEAT TRANSFER OF SUCH (TWO-PHASE) MIXTURES, DURING BOILING IN HORIZONTAL DUCTS. BOILING IN A HORIZONTAL DUCT WAS STUDIED. THE LOCAL HEAT-TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS WERE MEASURED WITH PURE OR BINARY BOILING FLOWS. A MODEL, DEVELOPED BY SCHLUNDER, IS USED FOR CALCULATING THE COEFFICIENTS. THE CALCULATED VALUES CORRELATE SATISFACTORILY WITH THE MEASURED ONES.
