Hydrocarbon/fire-suppressant mixtures as alternatives to HCFC-22 in air-conditioning cycles.

Author(s) : WANG H., LI H., MA L.

Summary

To enhance the safe application of hydrocarbons in air-conditioning systems, selected environmentally-friendly fire suppressants were introduced to form inflammable HC/fire-suppressant mixtures with 0 ODP, low GWP and promising performances in air-conditioning cycles. As a result, CO2/HC-1270/R1311, CO2/HC-1270/HFC-134a, CO2/HC-290/R1311 and CO2/HC-290/HFC-134a were found to be potential alternatives to HCFC-22 in air-conditioning systems.
