Summary

P. glabrum, P. purpurescens, P. decumbens, P. expansum, P. chrysogenum, P. crustosum and P. autantiogriseum caused deterioration of cold-stored Moroccan table grapes. Contamination by P. spp. occurred in the vineyard and inside the cooling station where other fruits, which were often fungus-contaminated, were also kept. All of these P. spp. were able to grow at 0 deg C apart from P. glabrum and P. purpurescens. It is concluded that refrigeration during long-term storage is not sufficient in itself to preserve grape quality.
