Summary

Experimental simulations have shown that vortices from delta wings can be utilised in offices to improve air movement and hence comfort, and also to improve air movement between carcasses in meat chillering rooms and hence product quality. Varying the type and position of the delta wings showed that the largest wings situated close to the diffuser outlet were much more effective than the smaller wings. The work allows the designers to make immediate improvements to the air distribution inside chillers and between carcasses, and hence product quality.
