Integrated cryogenic scanning tunnelling microscopy and sample preparation system.
Author(s) : TESSMER S. H., HARLINGEN D. J. van, LYDING J. W.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The system, operable from room temperature to 1.5 K, has been constructed and successfully tested. A newly prepared sample-tip can be transferred onto the microscope and lowered into a cryogenic environment without breaking vacuum.
