Summary

An outline of the heating tower-heat pump system and a method of equipment design, which isn't established, are introduced. As an example of practical implementation, the operating results of a heating tower-heat pump system with a 2,813 kilowatt refrigerating capacity are described. This sytem was installed as a part of renewal works for the heat source facilities at the Hamamatsu University School of Medicine which was completed in November 1994. The validity of the above mentioned design method was investigated using the operational data obtained there, and it was confirmed that the accuracy of predicting fluctuations in the concentration of antifreeze solution is sufficient.
