INVESTIGATION OF HEAT TRANSFER ON FINNED MARINE CONDENSER PIPES.

Author(s) : BONCA Z., KALINOWSKI K.

Summary

THE CONDENSATION OF R22 IN REFRIGERATION PLANT OCCURS IN SHELL AND TUBE CONDENSERS, WITH FINNED TUBES. THE TUBES ARE GENERALLY MADE OF COPPER-NICKEL OR MARINE BRASS. THE AUTHORS INVESTIGATED THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AT THE SURFACE OF TWO TUBES MADE OF THESE MATERIALS, WITH THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS. THEY SHOWED THAT THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF THE COPPER-NICKEL FINNED TUBE MAY BE 30% HIGHER THAN THAT OF THE BRASS TUBE. THE OVERALL HEAT EXCHANGED BY THE COPPER-NICKEL TUBE IS HIGHER THAN 6 TO 10% (SEE ALSO ABSTR. 86-0964).
