Author(s) : DUMINIL M.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The hazards of pressure variation in cold rooms are mentioned. The methods to measure tightness of a cold room, and the valves used for external pressure equalizing are described. The causes of the pressure variations are discussed, notably badly conducted defrosting processes. The variation rate was important and could be the reason of a major contractual clause in the schedule of conditions. Recommendations are presented which must be followed during construction, commissioning and operation.
