Irradiation sources and characterization of an ionizing treatment.
Sources d'ionisation et caractérisation d'un traitement ionisant.

Summary
Successful irradiation treatment needs a perfect knowledge of the radiation sources and also of the interaction modes of these electro-magnetic or corpuscular radiations with matter. This kind of treatment is characterized by the dose, energy absorbed per product mass unit. Dose distribution inside the product is of main importance; wished effects are related to a minimum dose, when an excessive maximum dose could induce undesirable negative effects in the treated product.
