Jet impingement heat transfer in a frost-free refrigerator.

Author(s) : IMRAAN M., SHARMA N.

Summary

The heat-transfer characteristics of a slot jet (width= w) of air in a confined space impinging on a circular cylinder (diameter d= w) located at 5 w from the jet exit, have been studied experimentally and computationally for Reynolds number (based on cylinder diameter and mean jet velocity) in the range of 1000-2000 over a range of confinements. This situation is found in a frost-free refrigerator, amongst other food refrigeration and cooling applications.
