Keeping quality of late peaches using passive modified atmospheres packaging.

Author(s) : FERRER A., REMÓN S., PEIRÓ J. M., et al.

Summary

The liners that have been used to package Jesca peaches under modified atmosphere allowed a CO2 concentration in the optimum range for peaches. However, the O2 concentration was too high in all the samples. High CO2 concentrations inside the packages delayed, but did not inhibit chilling injury in Jesca peaches stored at 5 °C. The modified atmospheres maintained global colour better than did air storage. The best results were obtained with the medium permeability liners.
