Postharvest quality of highbush blueberries after storage in cold store and modified-atmosphere packaging (MAP).

Summary

In 1993 highbush blueberries of the variety "Bluecrop" were harvested in August, stored in cold store at 1 and 10 deg C, and kept under MAP conditions for fourteen days. The blueberries were stored in wrapped polyethylene packages and in tight packages. Decay, water loss, fruit quality and sensory characters were analysed at the time of harvest and after storage. The CO2 and O2 conditions in MAP-units were recorded.
