Law of comparison for ice resistance during continuous icebreaking in level ice.

Summary
In 1992, in connection with a requirement to analyze a few sets of full scale and model data, the author reviewed the state of the art of ice resistance analysis techniques and, as a result, decided to examine the possibilities of a dynamic icebreaking analytic model, i.e. one in which the ice is being forced to vibrate, due to the passage of the ship, and the breaking occurs in a resonant situation. The result of this was the development of the analytic model and analysis routines described in the paper.
