Summary
The proposed vessel would operate as an ice-breaker, anchor handling ocean-going tug, onshore and offshore supply vessel, rescue and firefighting vessel, standby vessel and in navy support roles. The general hull form includes a spoon-shaped bow that reduces up to 50% of the output required to break a specific ice cover without however impeding open water performance. The concept features several innovations, including diesel-mechanical Z-drives for propulsion. Principal particulars and general arrangement plans of the proposed vessel are given.
