Summary
This sheet gives a description of the knowledge on Legionella in the work environment. Legionella are bacteria frequently found in the environment. They develop in water or in humid environments. Thus, they are present naturally in rivers, lakes and sometimes in the soil. They will also proliferate in certain artificial water environments (cooling networks of certain industrial processes or air-conditioning systems), and can possibly cause Legionella epidemics or isolated cases. This sheet can be downloaded from the Web site: www.travail-et-securite.fr.
