Summary
The paper reports on the current knowledge of refrigerants based on iodine and fluorine, substitutes for methane or ethane hydrogen. These refrigerants do not attack ozone, have a very low greenhouse effect, and are convenient for refrigeration applications or even for expanding insulation foams, whether pure or mixed with other fluids harmless to the environment. Their physical and chemical properties are examined.
