IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE ENERGY SAVINGS IN RELATION TO THE INVESTMENT COSTS, AND TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS ADOPTED ARE SUITABLE, A COMPARISON WAS UNDERTAKEN BETWEEN DIFFERENT WAREHOUSES HAVING THE SAME CONFIGURATION, BUT WITH DIFFERENT ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS. SOLUTION 1: ADOPTS THE NORMAL ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS FOR COLD STORES ; SOLUTION 2: A RANGE OF METHODS IS USED FOR REDUCING HEAT LOSS AND FOR INCREASING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE REFRIGERATING CYCLE ; AND SOLUTION 3: THIS SOLUTION DIFFERS FROM THE PREVIOUS ONES INSOFAR THAT THE PRODUCTION OF COLD IS UNDERTAKEN DURING OFF PEAK HOURS WHEN ELECTRICITY IS LESS EXPENSIVE.
