Summary
The sustainable development of HVAC & R will go together with the development of safe, economical, efficient and low TEWI systems. New low GWP refrigerants like HFO-1234yf will play an important role in this matter. This paper introduces new HFO blends and shows how they can be a part of the global environment-friendly solutions. Product applications and flammability are discussed; results show that low GWP products have excellent performance and can applied in compression system applications; the compromise between GWP and flammability is emphasized.
