Summary

Based on the analysis of solar ejector cooling system and comparison among different refrigerants, a solar ejector cooling system using a new refrigerant, R236fa, was developed. First, the operating performance of the solar ejector cooling system was simulated. Then the experimental study on the system using refrigerants R236fa, R141b and R123 was carried out with evaporator temperature from 5 to 10°C, condenser temperature from 30 to 36°C and generator temperature from 82 to 94°C. The results show that with refrigerant R236fa the optimum COP of the ejector cooling system was 0.413 and the optimum overall COP of the solar ejector cooling system was 0.243.
