Summary

DESCRIPTION OF AN AIR-FLUX-MEASUREMENT DEVICE DESIGNED ESPECIALLY TO STUDY THE EFFICIENCY OF THE COOL-AIR CIRCULATION INSIDE 40-FOOT CONTAINERS. WITH EMPTY CONTAINERS THE GOAL IS TO DISTRIBUTE THE TOTAL AIR OF THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM IN A CYLINDRICAL DUCT WHERE THE AIR SPEED IS SUFFICIENTLY UNIFORM TO BE MEASURED AND AVERAGED IN THE WHOLE SECTION. WITH A VARIABLE-SPEED FAN IN SERIES IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMPENSATE FOR THE INFLUENCE OF THE MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND TO SIMULATE THE WEIGHT LOSSES OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF GOODS. THE MEASUREMENT RESULTS ARE GIVEN. J.R.
