AN INSTALLATION FOR COOLING MILK ON DAIRY FARMS COMPRISES AN < ATMOSPHERIC > SECTION SITED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING, WHERE DURING THE WINTER THE COOLING AGENT IS FROZEN BETWEEN CONSECUTIVE MILKINGS AND THEN GRADUALLY MELTED, AND IS PASSED THROUGH A PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER TO COOL MILK. WHEN THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE RISES TO ABOVE 0 DEG C THE COOLING AGENT IS CIRCULATED THROUGH AREFRIGERATION UNIT SITED INSIDE THE BUILDING. THE AIM IS TO INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF COOLING AND SAVE ENERGY.
