Modelling of dendritic growth in pure substances.

Summary
The dynamics of a material in two phases is described using the phase field model based on a Landau-Ginzburg free energy functional. The phase interface is treated as a moving internal layer of finite thickness in the model consisting of two non-linear diffusion equations. A numerical algorithm to solve the system of phase equations is described and typical numerical results are discussed.
