Modelling of heat transfer in hot filled milk in cooling tunnel.

Author(s) : ZITNY R., HOUSKA M.

Summary

Milk contained in a cup paper box has a uniform initial temperature (85 deg C) after hot filling and enters a tunnel, where cooling gas (having constant temperature -30 deg C) flows around the box with prescribed velocity. In these conditions, a simple circulation model for transient natural convection seems to be suitable for cooling time estimates as well as for prediction of the mean temperature at the wall.
