Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer. Assessment of the use of flammable refrigerants: part III of the TEAP April 1997 Report.
Author(s) : TEAP, TOC Refrigeration, KUIJPERS L.
Type of monograph: Report
Summary
This report presents a preliminary assessment of flammable refrigerant options such as hydrocarbons and their mixtures, as well as certain HFCs. Hydrocarbon refrigerants are also beginning to be used in other refrigeration sub-sectors, such as commercial refrigeration, and in some air-conditioning systems. The current status of the market for commercial refrigeration, chillers, heat pumps, as well as portable air-conditioning units is also summarized. Extract from the table of contents: general aspects of flammable refrigerants; safety of systems; existing flammable refrigerant options; use of flammables in domestic refrigeration and in other systems; energy efficiency; concluding remarks.
