New R404A plant.
Installation neuve au R404A.
Author(s) : MARIOTON C.
Type of article: Article
Summary
R404A, suggested as a replacement for R502 in new plants, has thermodynamic properties that are slightly different from those of R502. A modelling comparison between the two fluids is described for a reference thermodynamic cycle. Use of components designed especially for R404A are advised for the installation. Use of R404A necessitates special precautions that are detailed; these have to do with compressors, lubrication, compatibility with materials, exchangers, refrigerant charge, assembly, sealing and security. Provided these precautions are taken, R404A is a good replacing fluid for R502. J.L.
