Oil behaviour of the HFCs R32, R125, R134a and one of their mixtures.

Author(s) : BURKE M., CARRE S., KRUSE H.

Summary

Besides some natural fluids such as hydrocarbons, ammonia, water or air, the designated alternative refrigerants for R22 and R502, many applications belong to the HFC group. The present, most favoured alternative is a mixture of the HFCs R32, R125 and R134a. In this paper, the behaviour of these refrigerants with an ester-type oil is presented. The results include miscibility, density, vapour pressure and viscosity tests for each oil-refrigerant system and one composition of the ternary refrigerant mixture R32-R125-R134a (30-30-40) with oil in a temperature range from -40 to 80 deg C.
