Summary
Measurements were performed both on fresh islets and on islets that had been previously cryopreserved (to assess whether the rigors of the cryopreservation protocol caused an alteration to the osmotic properties of the tissue). The output from investigation was a quantitative determination of membrane and interstitial diffusion transport properties of human islets in the presence of dimethyl sulphoxide.
