Ozonolysis in cooling towers: keeping clean with ozonolysis.

Type of article: Article
Summary
Field tests have been performed: ozonolysis emerges as being markedly superior to the uv and ionisation systems. While it did not achieve such high levels of disinfection as the conventional biocides used in the control, it can be argued that the latter is being overdosed and that the effects of an increased ozone dosage would have the same effect. Further studies into ozonolysis are nevertheless desirable, including the effects of ozone on some of the materials incorporated in cooling systems. More work is laso required into the capital and operating costs of ozonolysis systems.
